A study published in 1990 by Yuichi Shoda, Walter Mischel, and Philip K. Peake tested the ability to understand delayed gratification. This video is a recreation of the beginning of the test in the 1960s. The study focused on the participants from childhood to adulthood, and those with the ability to wait would tend to fair better in avoiding peer pressure and drug abuse.
