Save us from the godlessness that are our public schools and the men and women who serve in the military while being open homosexuals. Save us, Rick Perry!
I think we forgot there are other religions in the United States, Mr. Perry. Does it make you feel comfortable to be around a Muslim praying, sitting on his knees while he recites his prayers? No? Don’t want him to be allowed to openly practice his faith in “our” schools? Then shut the fuck up. Christians praying bothers the shit out of me, and I don’t want the Christian religion mixed into public schools, let alone any religion, unless is it the subject matter being taught.
And not wanting gays being out in the military… why does that bother you? They signed up to possibly die to protect the country you want to lead. A country partially made up of homosexuals, heterosexuals, pansexuals, atheists, deists, protestants, catholics, satanists, wiccans, jews, agnostics, intellectuals, and idiots. All of these types of people volunteer to sign up for the United States military. They are giving their lives to save yours. You need to lay off.
Saw this video linked on the facebooks. Two fellas by the names of Travis Nuckolls and Chris Baker walked around the Colorado Springs area asking people their thoughts on homosexuality. They then ask their interviewees when they decided to be straight. Bravo, guys. I’m totally using this the next time I experience gay haters.
I have a feeling this question may break a few people’s brains.
I’m super tired right now and I can’t feel my hands (yay wrist problems) but I wanted to post this before it becomes of of those “yeah I’ll get to it” doodles.
There’s a project out in the world called It Does Get Better, started by Dan Savage and his partner. It targets teenagers who identify somewhere in the LGBT-Q spectrum who are or have been harassed by others for being “different,” specifically for being some form of non-heterosexual.
When I clicked onto the It Gets Better Youtube page, this mohawked dude was the main video:
This is fucking brilliant. This project is connecting people who have been there to people who are there, going through all the bullshit. I wish this type of resource was available when I was a young person being pushed around for not being cool. I think a ton of people, not just the queer, can benefit from seeing people who have gone above and beyond the bullying. I can only hope that there are outreach programs that seek to connect IRL with people struggling, like the Trevor line, that can help people connect in an active way past the passive connectivity of internet video.
and here’s Dan Savage and his husband Terry’s own video:
Philias and fetishes recited by Florida representative Alcee Hastings. He’s explaining the difference between being punished for acts of hate and acts of love/lust.
NOM publicly thanked Stephen Colbert’s show for bringing attention to their group. What.
Apparently, they believe that Colbert has helped their cause, somehow. This is, as they say, ADORBS:
“I’ve always thought Stephen Colbert was a double-agent, pretending to pretend to be a conservative, to pull one over Hollywood. Now I’m sure,” said Maggie Gallagher, President of the National Organization for Marriage (NOM).
“Thank you Stephen for playing our ad in full on national television–for free. HRC eat your heart out. Plus we all had a great chuckle, too!” said Brian Brown, NOM’s Executive Director. “Where can I make a donation to the National Organization for Colbert?”
This website is owned and operated by Stephanie J Haddad, me. I post about things I'm interested in sharing and do not receive endorsements for any of it. The only thing I'm interested in making money on is my art work........ please? Tyty.
