Donate to your local rescues to help fund people who protect and rehabilitate animals from abuse. Some organizations like Champaign County Humane Society provide an outreach program that teaches little kids how to take care of dogs and cats to break the tradition of abuse. Here’s a couple I follow online or have been involved with at some point.

CH-CH-CH-CHANGES

Wednesday, September 14th, 2011

While I’m out and about, putting around on the bike, studying for the certification test, or in robot mode at work, I’ll start thinking about something that I want to post about. Subjects include my current joint issues with the impending cold weather, how I now eat less beige food due to the gluten-free diet, what I plan on doing with photo stuff, my motorcycle, where Altria is planning to get to next, etc. I even think out my paragraphs, what each will be about, and how I will go about interjecting lulz in my srs business. Then I go home to either 00J and/or fuzzy kitties and I immediately stop thinking about anything vexing.

fuzzy zzzs fuzzy eees

SOMETIMES IT IS ANNOYING TBH. Does this mean I’m old now? Either that or I’m addicted to reddit.

I’d really like www.haddadinkphotography.com to launch this week. I THINK IT’S HAPPENIN.

Perception

This picture is how I think I look in the morning: cute, fuzzy-brained, and adorably sleepy.

This picture is how I probably actually look: frazzled, dehydrated, and ready to grump at anyone that attempts speaking to me.

Mural Completed

Tuesday, October 26th, 2010

Finny the Doo is completed! All fourteen feet of it. This mural totally brought me back to the painting vibe. Next up is a portrait drawing. Here’s hoping I still got the touch with charcoal!

I have my cheerleaders at my side… er, back. They got my back.

Fiona thinks she’s a singer

Thursday, September 9th, 2010

(1:36:55 PM) therunn: i’m glad they have their own youtube channel
(1:37:01 PM) therunn: the internet needs more cats

As I continue believing my cats are the cutest, funniest little fuzzballs to grace the earth, I finally got video of Fiona’s night warbles. I think I was in bed longer than she deemed appropriate this morning and turned up the volume. Unfortunately, you, too, will have to turn it up because my phone sucks ass at capturing sound.

The first night I moved into this place, she and JP took turns singing to the darkness, effectively scaring the shit out of me in an already strange place with strange sounds and possible ghosts.

I finally captured my cat’s squeaks on video

Sunday, August 22nd, 2010

JP, my Himalayan rescue, can’t meow. He tries but you only hear the failed pushing of air when close enough to him. He does, however, possess a fantastic squeak. He used to only do it when I come home, but now he regularly squeaks when it’s time for brushing or the litter box is getting cleaned. I’ve seen him squeak at bugs he can’t reach as well as things in the yard through the window. He now takes to squeak singing at night, chiming in to Fiona’s already melodramatic night cries. Still working on getting a recording of that.

Apparently only female humans like the biebs

The shelter had a kitty named Lil that looked this this kitty. She hated EVERYONE who cleaned her cage yet somehow passed the safer test. I ended up running into her new owners months after she was adopted, and she looooves men and hates all women. All the employees who worked with her were female as well as the volunteers. MYSTERY SOLVED.

fiona thinks my corgi is real

Thursday, July 15th, 2010

At the shelter I used to work at, they did “safer” tests, testing dogs and cats on their ability to interact with other people, live in a shelter environment, and (for dogs) interact with other dogs in a friendly manner. For dogs they were nervous about, they used a stuffed animal that was the size of a lab and looked like a “pointer,” similar to this toy. The dog stands in a dominant posture with a straight back and its head erect.

My corgi is in an alert position, but I don’t think he’s very domineering with his short stature. Fiona thinks otherwise, and JP doesn’t know what to think of him at all. Yaayyy puppies as presents!

I moved.

commission number one is goooooooMy studio is now within the Independent Media Center of Urbana, or IMC as the l33t say. I was hesitant to go there (hippies! a-eee!) but the monthly rent of the new place equals the amount of money I spent on gas to get to the free old one. Also, I can get to this place by bicycle, bus, or skate, all money savers. Also, this place has loads of security and a controlled climate. Also, this place is near food establishments for when I forget to pack a lunch. Also, the people I interacted with that are in charge and not overbearing socially-inept hippies and are in fact nice, friendly people grounded in reality. The vibes of a new place are overwhelmingly positive, and these feelings of renewal shall by exploited to the fullest extent of my ability. I’ve missed the chill calm that is Urbana.

I have completed one and half commissions as of this posting, and it feels pretty good. It’s like getting my school work put on the fridge. Hauling my butt to studio will be way easier now that it’s closer. My work was up at Evolve Fitness Center in downtown Champaign from the beginning of June until last week. My latest spot will be a bistro in Urbana. I’ll link it when I’m officially on the walls there.

No sales on my Etsy as of yet. I put up a large print of my favorite recent painting. Here, let me link to it for funsies. Continuing my focus on people, I’ll probably not deviate from the theme unless a commission calls for it. I like doing different type things. Focusing on one type makes the others more exciting when they occur.

I additionally acquired a new living space, one the cats were not too happy about the first day, as displayed by their pouty faces and general spastic demeanor, running through all the rooms, climbing over everything possible, and landing in the safest place they could find. Together.

so happy together

This move is probably their best bonding moment. Fiona the lioness has cooled her jets since being here, being more playful towards JP with her jabbing, batting and nipping to soft bapping and virtually no nipping unless she feels the fuzz is being a twat. JP is standing up for himself in this new unclaimed world, and they are, for the most part, now at peace with each other in a large space big enough for two cat egos.

Since that first night, JP has gone back to his station in the tv stand and has held it strongly as one of his daily posts, watching all in his shared kingdom.

BONUS: Nessa! I watched her this weekend for a friend, and this cat is abso-fucking-lutely adorable even if her favorite toy is a crumbled up ball of paper.

soft and purry, that's what you are
